LABRAZAGRANDE

As part of the commemoration of the Massacre of La Sarna, artist Jose Ismael Manco created an action using corn hobs spelling the name of Labranza Grande. That is the name of a nearby town but also “Labranza” means the act of preparing the soil to host the seeds of plants. He uses the corn seeds to represent the people deceased at the massacre and create a new corn field in their name as an act of healing and hope.
