WE ARE A MULTIDISCIPLINARY ART COLLECTIVE DEDICATED TO EXPLORE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FOOD AND CONFLICT THROUGH ANY ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
THE SPIRIT OF BEEHIVE
Around 35% of what we eat has been at some point, polinised by a bee, most likely by a solitary bee instead of a honey bee. Through a multidisciplinary experience, Food of War creates a room questioning how we see these fascinating creatures and aims to increase awareness about their alarming decrease in population. A vibrant embrace full of colors, textures and media immerse the viewer in the life of a species that is key to our ecosystem. This installation has been set up by Hernan Barros and Omar Castaneda, with the special collaboration of Zinaida Kubar (video) and Rupert Earl (sound). The wars of the future is one of the obsessions of the collective and food scarcity plays a big role in those possible scenarios. The bee apocalypse looms over us and will be affecting not only the way we eat but our food security and even migration patterns.
